Los Angeles native Steven C. Markoff is a successful entrepreneur who has produced nonpartisan educational information through various venues since his first published work in 1985, “Should Chief Justice Rose Bird Be Re-confirmed in the Upcoming November 4, 1986, California Election?” In 2004, Mr. Markoff founded the nonprofit website ProCon.org, which researched and produced information in a mostly pro/con format on almost 100 socially important topics such as Obamacare, the death penalty, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. ProCon.org reached 200 million users before it was acquired by Encyclopaedia Britannica in 2020. His nonprofit A-Mark Foundation has produced reports on various policy issues, including historical research and analysis on our individual rights to bear arms, special investigations involving U.S. presidents, and Benghazi. His SexEd.net site gives diverse third-party opinions on more than 100 topics related to sex. Steve has served on the board of the nonprofit UCLA Management Education Associates and as a member of the Washington, D.C.-based Federal Task Force on Judicial Selection. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the nonprofit ACLU Foundation of Southern California since 1979.

In 2020, Mr. Markoff published his first non-fiction book, The Case Against George W. Bush, for which he won the Best of Los Angeles award “Best Political Book – 2020.”
